Add One-Way Drink Mix Valve?

Boost your GeoPress! GeoPress cartridges were redesigned in April 2023 with a new "core" and "flow channels" to accommodate a One-Way Valve for use with electrolytes, drink mixes and or other flavored liquids.

Note: the GeoPress® One-Way Valve ships pre-installed in every GeoPress Bottle.

OVERVIEW

Replacement purifier cartridges for the GeoPress are designed to last 350 cycles (65 gal. / 250L). Lifespan will decline when purifying water with high levels of silt, sediment or tannins. Cartridge press time increases towards the end of the cartridge lifespan; when press time reaches 25-30 seconds, the cartridge should be replaced. Cartridge continues to protect, even as press time increases. Compatible with One-Way Silicone Valve for electrolytes and drink-mixes.

Reviews

Wish that it had a soft protective cover

"I like that the filter is hermetically sealed in plastic wrap. However, I wish that it came with a foam or soft wrapper to protect the plastic wrap from easily being punctured in my pack. I found an extra wide koozie (neoprene) that fits it comfortably. A “Use By:” date or manufactured date would also be nice. I’m not sure when I’ll need it so a date of some sort on the filter would be great."

Essential Kit

"As a van lifer, a hiker, an adventurer, a traveller, an explorer and prepper. The Grahyl goes everywhere with me ive used it to drink from streams rivers and waterfalls all over the world from the peaks of the UK to the rain forests of Borneo. A good quality proven and trusted piece of kit. Worth every penny dont be fooled by cheaper knock offs or by other sub standard filters the Grahyl is 100% essential kit."

Outstanding product

"I understand writing a review about a cartridge is what this is about and I will say that I’m very impressed with the entire system, especially with the ease of changing cartridges while on the go. I use my Grayl everyday compared to my Spouse so our usage is drastically different but the ease of use, quality of water and maintenance go unchanged. I like your products so much I purchased two additional systems for my friends living in Colombia after the 7.4 earthquake a couple months ago."

Well Built, Great-Tasting Water, and Easy to Drink From

"So far, I’m really liking my GRAYL. I took it on a camping trip, and the water tasted good. It costs a little more than the Epic Water Filters bottles I’ve used for the past four or five years, but I like the construction and the press design. My Epic bottles worked well, including at military facilities where I prefer to filter my drinking water. My biggest complaint was the effort needed to draw water through the filter attached to the straw. With the GRAYL, once you’ve pressed the water, you can drink freely from the open spout. That’s probably my favorite feature—you can take a good drink without having to work for it. The pressing process takes a little getting used to, but I really like the concept. I’ll be carrying it around a military facility for the next three days, too. Still early in my ownership, but my first impressions are very positive."

Peace of mind in mexico

"This bottle is great for peace of mind while traveling, bot just hiking. If you drink lots of water and hate wasting or lugging around water bottles while traveling this should be your go to solution. Im buying a second one already as my girlfriend stole my first one. My only comment would be for people with a weak grip strength removing the external sleeve to fill with water could be a bit difficult but for most people the grippy material on it is sufficient."

Unsure of the correct cartridge

"Greeetings. Received the replacement cartridge just fine. However there is a clear plastic insert into the opening displayed in this image that was not included in the replacement. Was that a miss or should that plactic piece not have been used or included in the original order? I'm concerned regarding the effectiveness of the filter with or without it. I leave for a trip Friday when I was hoping to use the GeoPress. Now I'm frightened that I may not be protected like I'd hoped. If anyone can call or email me to reassure me of how to use the replacement cartridge, that would be helpful. 678-362-6477 or 569rbw@gmail.com"

Great product for filtering water

"Great product for filtering water if you’re traveling or on the go. Love the peace of mind this brings. Great travel size and quality filters that do an excellent job."

False advertisrment does not last 350 presses

"Cool product but just does not perform like advertised. Im just so disjointed in how hard it is too pull the 2 bottles apart to put water in too press. And ontop of that I used it 3 times in a creek that was totally clean and just after 3 presses its almost impossible to push down and take almost 45 seconds to fill. Ontop of that I doubt they will respond of do anything to keep me as a customer. Filters are 36 bucks plus shipping. Big thumbs down from me. Id like to ad I live in alaska and spend alot of money on hunting equipment. When I saw this product I had to have it and im just really upset with how its performed."

Great quality and exactly as described

"I bought this as a gift, so I haven’t personally used it and can’t comment on its functionality. However, my first impression is very positive. It looks high-quality, well-made, and just as described. I’m very happy with the purchase."

— Mirjana K. (5/5)

Not arrived

"Great bit of kit but it has not been delivered. GLS say the attempted delivery but I was here all day and no sign. I am considering buying a bottle carrier and maybe upgrading to titanium but if I cannot receive items maybe I will look elsewhere."

Q&A

How long can the same filter be used (daily) without risk of fouling?
Great question. However, there is no actual hard and fast rule. With that said, if used daily, a great habit to adopt would be to perform a complete cleaning and drying every 10-14 days.
Kann ich mit der Filterflasche bedenkenlos Leitungswasser in Südostasien trinken?
Yes, Grayl purifier bottles offer worldwide protection.
Hi, I live in Switzerland and have just realized that there are two different models available for the geopress purifier filters and I was wondering if they are both original parts. The one model is the one shown on your page where the openings for water are arranged in groups of 6 horizontal slits. In the other one the openings for water are arranged in groups of 3 vertical slits. I just don't want to pay for some cheap copy of your product which is labeled with grayl. Thank you for your help.
Thank you for reaching out, and great question. The filter with the vertical ventilation slits is a first generation filter, while the one with horizontal slits is second generation. They are functionally identical in every regard with the only difference being that the second generation filter is also compatible with the one way drink mix valve.
Do your filters also filter Cyanobacteria and their toxins?
They do not. Areas where cyanobacteria are present should be avoided when using your Grayl.
Is the inner press, top, and outer shell dishwasher safe?
All bottle components (besides for the filter), should be handwashed with warm water and soap.
